Sodium alginate (E 401) is a polysaccharide obtained from brown algae, possessing unique properties.

In the acidic environment of the stomach, it transforms into insoluble alginic acid, creating a barrier that protects the tablet core. At higher intestinal pH, the barrier dissolves, releasing the contents.

Shellac-free. Natural enteric coatings are most often based on shellac, an insect secretion. Perica™ VG is made from algae.

Methacrylate copolymer-free. Enteric protection is provided by alginate, not methacrylate copolymers or phthalates.

Vegan. All ingredients are of non-animal origin, as confirmed by our suppliers' declarations.

Approved ingredients in supplements. Each ingredient has an E number approved for food use. Titanium dioxide-free, like all our systems.

Perica™ VG is suitable for use wherever the ingredient should not come into contact with stomach acid or be released in the stomach:

• probiotic strains,
• digestive enzymes,
• fish and algae oils – release in the intestine helps reduce the fishy aftertaste,
• extracts with an intense aroma, such as garlic and valerian,
• ingredients that may irritate the stomach.
